Deep within it lay a town whose inhabitants bore no facial features that even remotely resembled the stranger. It was the adventurer who named this place Faceless Town. What follows is not the narrative of how this place was discovered, but what happened afterward—events that unfolded gradually, without clarity, without warning, seen through the eyes of an observer who chose to document rather than intervene. They simply happened. And once seen, they were impossible to forget. AI/AI is reported in both positive and negative superlatives. As a former automobile designer and IT product design manager, who is now a cultural promoter at Lasterkultur gUG at Waldinsel.com as a shareholder, Ric Drews would like to show in this lecture how AI can be used as an inspiring digital partner for generating text and audio and images and is spreading rapidly. Using these AI tools is not as easy as it seems. For hobby creatives, impressive works seem to be created very quickly in an easy way. However, as in all disciplines, in order to work professionally with AI tools, a lot of training is required. And this not only affects the user, but also the digital Inspirations AI partner. Ric Drews would therefore like to outline the current AI learning areas for an interested audience in his lecture. Exhibition at the Künstlerhaus WHAT IF I PROMISE TO KEEP IT QUIET ? Nora Lube Intimacy and publicity overlap in my work. Found objects in which destruction and decay have inscribed themselves provide me with information about my surroundings. As industrial remains, they are late capitalist relics of abundance. But they can also come from interpersonal environments and thematize security or protection. I work with embodied narrative. Found materials have traces that tell me stories about their context. I take them into the studio and work with them by adding, removing, reworking or translating them into a different material. Embodied knowledge is also contained in the human physique. The environment is reflected in the body, becomes visible on our surfaces. I am interested in the interrelationship in which bodies influence their surroundings and shape and change themselves through them. In the exhibition space, I show a personal narrative that combines social and autobiographical narratives and is composed of manual labor and industrial materials. AI in image processing Art&Communication at the Künstlerhaus, Lecture by Rüdiger Rodloff August 15, 2024, at 7:00 pm The "Künstlerhaus" in vacation mood (This "photo" of the Künstlerhaus is created with an AI tool, entirely via text input. Reflections, perspective, incidence of light, shadows, proportions and the colors are adjusted fully automatically). Bilder vom Vortrag - bitte hier klicken ! Photographs are admissible as evidence in court. We are all convinced that photography provides an unadulterated image of our surroundings. This was true as long as it was a reproduction of concrete objects, people and situations. Because we recognize the objects in the photograph so precisely, we also tend to accept the feelings, moods and contexts conveyed by the photograph largely uncritically. Even in classic photography, a simple change to the image section or a shift in focus can turn the image statement on its head. However, the situation has worsened in recent years: now that image processing based on artificial intelligence (AI) has found its way everywhere and has also become largely free of charge for amateurs, consumers of these "photos" cannot even assume that the specific objects depicted are real. This type of image manipulation is dangerous because, as unbiased viewers, we are used to assume that "photography" has an objective reference to reality and therefore immediately believe what we see! The unbiased viewer has no chance of recognizing the manipulation, i.e. the "fraud". The lecture is intended to illustrate which manipulations are already possible in the field of photography, even at amateur level. Künstlerhaus Stipendien Bildende Kunst Ausstellungen Bildergalerie Meinersen Welcome to the website of the Künstlerhaus in Meinersen! Project: Figurative drawing and painting from Ukraine - Flight, War, Arrival Final exhibition of the Bösenberg Scholarship Foundation Kateryna Tkachenko ∙ Iryna Vorona ∙ Dmytro Dotsenko Opening: Fri. April 12, 7:00 p.m Opening hours: April 12th - May 5th, 2024, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m Speaking at the opening: Andreas Schuster, 1st Chairman / Dirk Bösenberg, Bösenberg Foundation / Jochen Weise, Artistic Director Musical accompaniment: Selin Özer, flute Kateryna Tkachenko Comes from Odessa and is 21 years old. She is a draftsman. In her work she prefers to use ballpoint pens to draw expressive portraits. She observes people in their everyday lives, studies their lifestyle, their whereabouts, their consumer behavior and compares them with people from their homeland. Through these observations she develops a feeling for life in her new surroundings. Iryna Vorona was born in Kyiv in 1987. She received her doctorate on the theory and history of the arts and received her diploma as an artist. In Meinersen she draws exclusively with charcoal pencil. She develops image ideas on the subject of suffering. Faces distorted in pain, grieving people, desperate mothers, protective gestures, frightened children, loving hugs, gestural solidarity. Impressively realistic and experienced physically and sensually. Dmytro Dotsenko was born in Zaporizhia in 1994, doctor of arts and master of arts in monument painting. In his works he focuses on rethinking the traditions of the Renaissance, Baroque and avant-garde in the context of events and the perception of the world with contemporary themes and senses. Thus, he cannot ignore the great tragedies and challenges of the Russian attack on his homeland and reflects on them through large-scale war dramas, painted in traditional Ukrainian monument painting. Kateryna Tkachenko and Iryna Vorona were able to flee Ukraine in 2022, while the young painter Dmytro Dotsenko was not allowed to leave the country and is supported with the scholarship in Kyiv. In the Künstlerhaus Meinersen, safe and free from financial constraints, the two artists reflect on their traumatic experiences during Russia's attack on Ukraine and work on them artistically. Gemeinde Meinersen / Samtgemeinde Meinersen International call for applications for the Art Scholarship 2024/25 T he municipality and joint municipality of Meinersen have set themselves the goal of promoting young contemporary art and, at the same time, providing current impetus to the cultural spectrum of the region. However sophisticated this contraption may be, it is not perfect. Every human being has a very personal construct of their environment based on physiological, cultural or individual experience. In my work, the senses are misled, and at the same time it raises the questions: Can I believe my eyes? To the picture gallery II -click here ! Ping Qiu was born in Wuhan PR China in 1961, studied painting at the Fine Art Academy in Hangzhou and went to the HdK nach  Berlin on the recommendation of the Chinese sculptor Shinkichi Tajiri . Here she initially continued to paint in her traditional Chinese technique, but was overwhelmed by the European culture shock and stated that she could not continue this painting in Germany. She tried to paint "European" but could not overcome her internalized realism. She finally managed to emancipate herself from traditional Chinese art through the medium of installation. This was completely new to her and here she was finally able to develop new artistic potential. In particular, the red rubber gloves became her preferred material. She sewed these together and arranged them on bodies of water to create a poetic impression of water lilies, reminiscent of the water lilies painted by Claude Monet. The finger flowers have become her trademark, but her work is far "... more than delicate flowers". She has already shown these in New York, on the Grand Canal in Venice, at the Biennale in Havana, in the Mies van der Rohe House in Berlin, in Korea, Worpswede and now in Meinersen. But what role does artificial intelligence play in art? Can AI itself create art or is AI more of a tool? In the lecture, Sonja Köster gives insights into the possibilities artificial intelligence can offer for the art world. _________________________________________________________________ Künstlerhaus Meinersen eV, Hauptstrasse 2, 38536 Meinersen  /Directions sketch Homepage Meinersen Künstlerhaus sponsor Archive 2008-2020 Neue Seite Contact Impressum Scholarship holders / artistic director Statute, .... We try to take all wishes into account as best as possible when dividing them into groups. An exchange is always possible on site, just ask the artist team! After an introduction to the cultural history of ceramic objects, the variety of shapes of vessels, their functionality in everyday life, and a possible ritual/personal meaning will be discussed. Under individual guidance, the ideas of the course participants are developed with the help of drawings and implemented with their own hands in the construction technique. You are welcome to bring ideas or objects as role models. What traces does a hand brush leave in acrylic paint? What structure does a steel sponge leave behind in the picture? We throw one or the other design rule overboard and allow ourselves freedom in the creative process. The participants can experiment with different means by painting, wiping, scratching, spraying and thus expanding their repertoire. The starting point for the experimental approach are still lifes that invite the investigation of structures and forms. Individual image concepts are developed and implemented under individual guidance. Together we free ourselves from demands for perfection and free ourselves from the fear of the blank canvas. The starting point is a photo template. It begins with the precise transfer to the painting surface. After that, all paths to the goal are open. Whether acrylic, oil or watercolor, the color is in the foreground. During the course, the aim is to achieve the desired or “undesirable” result in a playful and free way. It's more about painting over and repainting and letting yourself be surprised and reacting than meticulously copying the template. Bring along - photo templates, - soft pencils if available.
